We can help to bring new technologies to the local people in Remote Areas of Indonesia, enabling them access to many tools which will ensure a better future for all.
Australian Outreach Zone (OZone) is a not-for-profit-organization.
The OZone Ubud project is being formed to provide a unique opportunity for the local community of Ubud, Bali, Indonesia to aquire basic computer literacy for the purpose of gaining access to online e-commerce marketplaces for local business people, artists and craftsmen.
OZone will also offer local children currently learning English at the Starfish Language Center in Ubud access to computers and basic computer literacy lessons.
ITS NOT MUCH ...
The OZone project in cooperation with the Starfish Language Center commenced a study early this year to examine the need for these skills in the area among the indigenous community and what changes would occur due to these skills being obtainable for the local community.
... BUT IT IS A LOT
Evidence demonstrated that there is a great interest among the local small businesses Craftspeople and Artists to enter the global communities through computer and internet technologies in order to access online marketplaces.
At present new technologies are not available to the local people due to poverty in the region combined with low income and wages.
